A Good Day Junkin!

No transformation today. Nothing creative on my part. Just super excited about a few good finds hubby and I came across today. You see, I leave for First Monday in Canton tomorrow and he goes back to work so we had to get in a good day of scavenging while we can.....although truth be told I will doing a little hunting on my own a little at Canton this weekend too! haha

So, we started the day at a storage building auction.....ever seen "Storage Wars" on tv?? Well that's basically what we went to and it was FUN!! We didn't end up buying anything there but we did hit a couple antique stores later and my favorite consignment shop. Where I found.......

THIS GORGEOUS SHABBY HAND PAINTED GREEN AND GOLD ITALIAN TABLE!!

Please note..my pictures do NOT do these pieces justice :(

LOVE the checkerboard/lattice  pattern on the top!

the beautiful carved legs....the side detailing....
(and of course D had to see what I brought in......he takes his job of inspector very seriously!)

the beautiful scalloped edging.....

And then I found THESE!

Beautiful old hand painted nesting tables.....they're not really as minty green as they appear in this pic....the patina is wonderful!

I also found these great HUGE pillows for a steal! $2 each!! And there were five of them....that means I now have cushions for all of my wicker furniture in the sunroom for the teeny weeny price of $10!! Can I get a whoop whoop??!!!

These pillows are huge and in excelllent condition. The ruffle goes all the way around. I just tucked it under on the sides and back so it would look right as a seat cusion. The covers have zippers so they can be removed and washed which is really important with kiddos and kitty. :)

I may end up recovering them in the future as hubby is not loving the large rose print...but maybe not! A few neutral throw pillows might tone it down just enough. But I have been dieing to try printing  one of Graphics Fairy's gorgeous images onto fabric so I might do that and make a pillow .....we'll see. Right now I'm just loving the way my sunroom is finally coming together.....and at an awesome price!!

For Mama......

A few weeks ago my mother handed me these beautiful vintage brooch & earrings. Her only request was "Do your thing and make me something pretty with these".......Aaaawwwww.....isn't she a sweetie!!

Needless to say the set is absolutely gorgeous on it's own! But she wanted a necklace so I set out to design something simple yet striking. The saphire blue in these pieces is just breath taking and I remembered a little bag of handcut antique aurora borealis beads that Hubby and I found in Seattle last year.....they were a perfect match! If you are familiar with aurora borealis beads then you know they are not just one solid color. They are dark or light or metallic depending on how the light hits them. They're gorgeous! I also added clear swavorski crystals and wrapped them all with sterling silver wire.

And this is how it turned out......She loved it and almost cried when I gave it to her :)

It made me feel so good to be able to do something special for the precious lady that has given so much of herself to me. I love you Mama
