Cool Ocean Vibes

Well hello there!!

If you haven't noticed, it's been over TWO YEARS since I've blogged here......my excuse....for some reason Blogger quit working on my computer and after a while I gave up trying to solve that problem. Anyway, I had my laptop overhauled and now it works so

BAM!  I'M BAAAAAAACK!!!!

For this post, I'm keeping it light and simply featuring a rugged beach design I created a few months ago. Chunky Amazonite gemstones and silver tribal beads knotted on Irish linen.......I pray it's new owner enjoys it as much as I enjoyed creating it!!

Hope y'all are staying cool as the temps begin to heat up! And if all else fails......head to the beach!

(or cooler waters of the mountains as we did a couple weeks ago!!)

Earthy, beach-boho-chic jewelry like this is my go-to look this time of year. Check out F&P's Etsy HERE shop for more takes on this fun style!! You can also find a shop link in the sidebar.

What is your favorite summertime accessory??
What can you not live without??
(besides a great pair of sunnies!)

A Sweet Custom Design

Good Morning friends
Today I'm sharing a necklace that I designed for my dear friend and fellow Girls Gone Junkin buddy, Brenda. In the middle of a normal conversation at Canton last month she casually said "i have an old religious piece that I want you to look at. Maybe you can make a necklace out of it for me"......ok

So the next day she brings in this sweet little burlap bag and I'm expecting to find a small religious medal, maybe a cross.....no, what lay inside was this beautiful, delicate,  hand embroidered antique masterpiece. It's a rather large piece with a felt backing and a ribbon loop to hang it. Brenda had already hand sewn the loop down to the backing to make a smaller loop and strung it on leather cording.

Her only instructions were, "I want it to lay about right here (pointing to her chest) and just do your thing. You know my style and I trust you."

This is Brenda. She is a true hippie chick gypsyfied cowgirl. One of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet, clothing designer extroidinaire and absolutely precious. I love her and her style.

She takes risks and wears what she likes, and doesn't worry what other people think. I SO admire that!!

This is what I put together for her. She was so happy with the way it turned out and it looked absolutely stunning on her.

Working on this piece also reminded me how much I enjoy wire wrapping, which I haven't done as much of lately, and natural semiprecious stones.
I've already designed and completed a few new pieces that also incorporate antique hardware and I can't wait to share them with yall!

(I would have more photos to share with you but Blogger is not cooperating. Is anybody else having trouble loading photos?? Ugh)

I hope you all had a Happy and Blessed 4th of July yesterday. I did a little clean up and painting in my studio to get ready for the Where Bloggers Create linky party next weekend and then we went swimming and cooked out at my moms......I'm still full from dinner!! :)

Beat The Heat & Some Summer Bling

Canton Countdown is ON!

It all begins in 36 hours!!

Here's a quick sample of a few of my new designs. It will all be in the shoppe this weekend at First Monday in Canton, Texas. We are located inside Canton Marketplace, on hwy 19 just before you get to the Original Grounds, where the air is nice and coooool!!....Booth 212 Row E.

Stop by and say Hi!

Also, I'd like to give a great big THANK YOU shout out to the super talented, super sweet Riki Schumacher of Romantic Relics for saving my hiney when I accidently deleted the link to her awesome tutorial on soldering rhinestones!! She was such a sweetheart and sent me the link again so I was actually able to finish the bracelets and brass cuffs I'd been working on!! Thanks so much Riki, you Rock!!

Ok...enough talk....onto the pics :)

My Vintage Bling Rings
I LOVE repurposing long forgotten clip-on earrings and turning them into one of a kind cocktail rings...ok, sometimes two of a kind :)

Antique belt and shoe buckles are one of my favorite finds and I love creating stunning wrist wear with them. This old belt buckle is particularly gorgeous. I actually squeeled when I found it!
It's loaded up with various sizes and styles of chain, vintage rosary beads and my wire wrapped czech glass beads.
I'm so in love with this one.....

Another sweet bracelet. Vintage ladies watch faces, another clip-on earring, brass filligree, a few rhinestones for sparkle and lots of chain and wire wrapped beads. It's adorable.

Mmmmmm........big vintage rhinestones, an old button, vintage rosary beads and more chain in varying sizes and style. Yummy!!

I'm really proud of this little collection.....can you tell....sorry for the shameful boasting :) They're possibly my favorite pieces pieces ever.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Can't wait to see everybody this weekend!!

xoxo
